This is the story of two people

“Me and Louise” is a musical duo originally from San Francisco currently traveling the world, writing and recording whenever we find ourselves.  Yes, we’re escaping the Trump years, but we’re also trying to make music that brings something deeply human and raw into today’s increasingly glossy/digital/perfect landscape: we don’t avoid technology but don’t believe it has any business being the focus of music.

To that end we record acoustic pianos and mess them up, leave mistakes in, and don’t really bother trying to fit into a genre.  We love Bill Withers as much as Lady Gaga as much as Tom Waits.  We hope that working in this post-modern era, and our listeners’ patience, affords us this much; something too often lost in making music is that songs enter the world with a desire to live a certain way, and as musicians it’s only our duty to facilitate those desires.  

Having said that: Louise’s voice is, and will always be, the centerpiece of what we do.  It’s the one inescapable truth of our work.
